I know that everyone really enjoys the customization that you can get by working directly with me, and I also like planning bags with you all and seeing some of the fabrics that you pick for yourselves.  I am finding, though, that the custom bags are quite a bit more time consuming than I would have thought, so I'm providing everyone with an FAQ for custom bags.  This article will also become a permanent link from my home page in case you need to refer to it.

FAQ about Custom Orders

Q: What is a Custom Order?

A: A custom order is a request for a bag in a fabric that isn't currently listed on my site.  This could mean a fabric that you pick out yourself and send to me, or a fabric (or combination of fabrics) that you see on another bag style on my site.  Typically I cut multiple bags out of a fabric, so cutting one at a time is more time consuming for me.

Q: How much does it cost for a Custom Order?

A: Custom orders add 10% to the cost of the bag.

Q: Can I send you my own fabric?

A: Absolutely!  I love to see the fabrics that my customers choose for themselves!  I will still be supplying the lining fleece, interfacing, hardware and webbing.  At first I thought it would be helpful to see what my customers want by seeing the fabrics they send.  It’s not possible…they are all so different and unique.  I LOVE IT!

Q: How do I go about ordering it?

A: Email me at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it with your custom request and I’ll see if it’s possible.  It will depend on your request and my available time.  If I can do it, I will send you an invoice to pay for it through PayPal.

Q: What kind of fabric can I send you and how much?

A: The yardage will depend on the bag you want it made in.  (BTY: Travel Bags take a ½ yard, and the Kindle Bag takes a third of a yard.) I prefer to work with cotton or decorator weight fabrics.  Please let me know if you want to use a fabric that is heavy.

Q: I'd like to add a pocket, change the handle, etc.  Can you do that?

A: Of course! However, any requests requiring the redesign of a bag will need to be handled and charged on a case by case basis.  Just send me an email and I'll let you if the request is possible.
